Two shows, one shirt

There are two shows on television right now that, when I watch them, I find myself smiling from start to finish just in anticipation of what's about to happen.

One is a recent discovery -- "The Sarah Silverman Program." Her comedy is crude and offensive and gross and I love it. SS airs at 9:30 Wednesdays on Comedy Central.

The other is "The Office." Can't get enough of this show. And it's very fun that my desk neighbors, Suzanne, Beccy and Lori, love it too. It makes it much easier to unshun them. "The Office" is on at 8 p.m. Thursdays on NBC.

Would you think less of me if I ordered this T-shirt?

Alva

Grandma Wendy is finally feeling better, so we went to Alva this weekend to celebrate.

It was Northwestern University's homecoming weekend, which includes the biggest parade in the region. The star attractions (besides the appearances of Miss Beaver and Miss Hooker) are a petting zoo, inflatables, food and marching bands.

Lexi had a big time. Not only did she get to eat Grandma Wendy's good cookin, but she also went to a park, performed stunts for her Uncle Tim (UNCLE TIM, WATCH DIS!) and got to try out watercolors for the first time.

I HAVE to find a reason to do this

Anyone wanna invite me over for Halloween?

A horse and a mouse

Tonight, Lexi was testing out a possible Halloween horsey costume. I say possible because she's very particular about what she wears and there's a good chance she MIGHT figure out before Halloween that this is not actually a horsey costume. We thank Hannah and Jack for loaning us their props. And speaking of Hannah...

We heard today that she got a part in the Friends University production of "The Nutcracker," and we are very proud. She will be playing a mouse. I plan to take my little cowgirl. I mean, horsey.

Neils on the move

After a year and a half of seller's angst and a month of buyer's angst, my stressed-out parents finally have a new house. They're leaving Garden City and moving back to Carthage, Mo., where they grew up. They should be relocated by mid-November.

Haven't seen it in person, but I like it from the outside. Though it looks like they might need another car.

This is my favorite part -- and mom's too.

Perks of knowing a pro

Tonight, Jaime called to beg for our help. She needed an example of a pet portrait session to go on a Woofstock poster she needs to make. Could she come right over?

So glad we allowed her to put us out...

Who's that girl?

This getup is apparently intended for Suzanne's and Annie's jack-o-lantern. But I just had to test it out. Still trying to decide if I was having more fun.
