Tonight, Lexi told me that she wanted to paint. She was pretty insistent. So I got out the watercolors, got on the phone with Jaime and stopped paying attention.
A few minutes later, I realized she was actually creating something pretty coherent.
I'm no artist, but I think this is pretty good for a 3-year-old.
Think I'm gonna have to frame this one.

That is impressive!
I just ran across this critique in ArtForum. She must have some good contacts to work so quickly.
The New Modernist
It's no secret that the Eiffel Tower greatly influenced the art world at the beginning of the last century. It's monstrous height allowed viewers to see things from above in a way they had not seen before, changing the art world forever.
This critic believes that the pint-sized stature of a three-year-old young artist has done the same one hundred years later. Alexis Jungman stands 36 inches high and is able to view things from a perspective very unlike adults. This is clearly evident in her work.
Her art consists of abstract colors of the world around her. She works in watercolors, using only the finest .99 cent Crayola paints sold in the arts & craft section at Tarjay. She creates this modern modernist work on top of a short Ikea table with a noisy dog and a basket full of toys nearby.
It's clear that she has been influenced by the primary colors that Troubles the Clown uses in his latex balloon sculptures.
It's also evident that her love of Cajun music has greatly influenced her work. Her pieces can best be described as a gumbo of life.
A critique already. Impressive! I love it.
You've got yourself an artist in your hands!
