A common sound around here: "I WANNA WATCH DOWA!" We try to limit it to one episode a day, but sometimes she sneaks in two. It's the only thing she watches! I swear! (Now that she considers Elmo to be, like, soooooo 2006.)It's hard to know the right thing to do with television. I'm very aware of it and try not to have it on when she's awake (except for Dora.) But I do think she's picked up a few useful bits of knowledge from that little Explorer. For example, she can count to cinco in Spanish, and she knows how to say, "Lo hicimos!" (We did it!!!)
Plus, she's now very well aware of the social etiquette concerning swiping.

I agree. Elmo is so 2006. Lauryn loves Dora and she'll agree swiping is bad. We watch a little more tv at our house and she seems to be okay.

Poor elmo. Seems our 2-year-olds have outgrown the poor monster. Kyle's also into Dora, but of course, he's an even bigger fan of her cousin.
